7-year old boy finds gun and shoots 15-year old boy

Anthony Lane, Jr., age 15
A 15-year old boy in Florida was in his home playing a video game when his 7-year old male relative, a special-needs child, found a loaded gun on the floor.
Police say the boy thought the weapon was a toy and when it fired he ran out of the room.
The victim has been identified as Anthony Lane, Jr.
The teen was shot in the head and has now been removed from life support.

His family has stood vigil at his bedside since the shooting. The teen's grandmother Angela Jones asked that people pray for her family.

"He's still alive, but just barely," Jones said, adding that doctors had pronounced Anthony brain dead a little before 4 p.m. "We need prayers for our family."

The boy's mother plans to donate his organs, Jones said.

Jones said she was at church Sunday night when she received a call that her eldest grandson had been shot. She's not clear how the gun got into the child's hand, but said Anthony did not carry a weapon.

A follow-up article says that the gun apparently fell out of the teen's pocket, at which point the younger boy picked it up to hand back to Anthony and the gun went off. The victim's family disagrees with that belief, saying that their son wouldn't have had the gun and think that it was actually owned by the younger boy's family, in whose house the accident happened.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
