Two girls, 14 & 16, wounded on streets of Chicago

Two teen girls, ages 14 and 16, were walking in south side of Chicago in the evening when they heard gunshots and were both hit. The article didn't say if they were known to be the intended targets.

The 14-year-old was shot in the ankle, while the older girl suffered a graze wound to her calf, police said.

Both were taken to Mercy Hospital where they were treated and released.

No arrests had been made as of this morning.

The shooting happened near the Chicago High School for the Arts, 521 East 35th St., the site of the old Doolittle Primary School.

Police didn't say whether the victims were students at the school.
